obsessed!

hello again!
okay so this past saturday my friend hannah did a blog post on her recent obsessions, and i thought i should do that. don't call me a copy cat, when i see a good idea i do it.
oh and you may or may not see some similar things that she had in her post we tend to have the same taste in things.

okay so the first this that i will be obsessed with for life is diet coke i love diet coke i mean LOVE IT! if i'm having a bad day and stressed and whatever, all i have to do is drink a diet coke and i feel better. i know it sounds crazy but it works.
and i don't drink like a whole case a day i only drink 2 to 3 a day.

forever obsession <3

so the next thing is hillsong united's new album aftermath it is AMAZING!
i've always love hillsong and hillsong united's music, but since i downloaded this album i'm listing to it constantly,  i mean i'm listing the whole album all the time everyday. i've never done that with any new albums where i'm listing to them this much, i've played a song over and over but not a whole album like this.
it is different than their other albums, i don't know how it just is you'd have to listen to them, and the music is always soooooo good as is the lyrics.

i can't post videos from you tube on here for whatever reason so i shall post liks for each son in order.

okay so the next thing is candyyyyyy!!
but not just any candy laffy taffy i love laffy taffy i remember when it came out when i was a little kid, and loved it but what's sad it i can't find watermelon laffy taffy any where around here, it's not so much that i want the watermelon taste but in that flavor they have fake edible watermelon seeds that are amazingggg, i did find it on amazon.com but i don't know if i want to buy watermelon laffy taffy from amazon is that too extreme?
let me know in a comment.

okay so the last thing is my blackberry torch i put up a post awhile back about getting it, so i'm not going to go into too much about it, but since i've had it for about a month, [and used it a little bit more]  i love it i don't know how i lived before i had one it's so nice and i have some sweet apps like metrix which is like tetris. yeahhhhh

next of course is nexflix  i love nexflix!

Kitchen Gadgets

hey guys
so for awhile i've been wanting to show you some of my favorite kitchen tools that have been soooo helpful to me. and i don't think i could imaging cooking a meal without them.

so the first thing i can't stress enough about it you have to have a good chefs knife that is sharp and stays sharp for a good while before you have to resharpen it.
i've used a few different knives before, but then i usually find something better.
the one i currently use that is my favorite is this one

as you can see it's a chigao cutlery i actually got this on clearance at walmart, it was $12 which is pretty cheap for a good knife. but it's a really good knife. you can find out about it here if you like.

okay so the next thing is a micro-plane  which looks like this

you can use this tool for many different things like to zest lemons and or oranges and limes, and to grate nutmeg, and my favorite thing to shred garlic cloves! [i love garlic] [just a fyi]
you also can shred cheese but i prefer using the food processor, but if you just need some to top a dish it works, and you can grate chocolate on top of desserts. you can basically shred alot of things which the micro-plane and what makes it really nice is the blades seem to never dull, or at-least they haven't since we've gotten ours a few years ago n we use it alot.
they also have other shapes like rectangles and squares, i want to get one of the other shapes because it can be a bit challenging with the curved edge on the bottom of the blade
see it's nothing serious but i would kind of like to upgrade.
you can fine micro-planes at kitchen stores and look at the other kind of things they have here.

oh and here's another picture of it in my hand so you can see what it looks like to scale

next thing is this thing

can you guess what it is?????

now do you know what is it?
yes a colander but it folds up for easy storage, cool huh? i have seen these around more and more latley but we got this a few years ago from QVC

ok so the next couple things everybody has so i won't need to explain a whole lot about them

so this is obviously a flat vegetable peeler i usually use this to peel carrots and that's pretty much all i use them for and sometimes other things.

and obviously this is you traditional vegetable peeler i prefer using this to peel potatoes {which is only a few times a year because i hate peeling potatoes}
and i like this brand xoxo because it stays sharp i've had this vegetable peeler since i was 13, 14?? ad i'm now 20 and it's still sharp. pretty sweet right

the next thing i loveee i mean i LOVE this tool the more i use it the more i love it

it's my mortar and pestle i love this thing latley i've been using this every-time i cook you can make all kinds of things with this like medicine, no i don't make medicine with it, i usually crush garlic and make spice blends and crush herbs. i got this for $10 at tjmaxx that's the cheapest i've seen one this size so i grabbed it. and i;m so glad i did.

okay so that's all of my kitchen tools that i don't think i could do without.
what are your favorite kitchen tools that you can't go a meal without using.

strawbery trifle

hello everybody
can you believe march is finally here? well you know what that means spring!
it seems like everyone is so anxious for spring, even i am and i like cold weather but after 4 months, it's time for warmer weather.
am i right?

oh  and the pic is of the best chips ever made i'm telling you these are the BEST & their what i was snacking on while making this dessert.

okay so on to the dessert
this is soooo easy, even easier than the pumpkin trifle i made back around thanksgiving.
well maybe their both the equally easy to make, i don't know i just like to make easy things.
oh and this recipe i made myself

so you need a angel food cake

trim off the brown crust of the top and edges
then cut horizontally so you have 3 layers even in thickness, if one layer is a little bit thicker than the other 2 don't worry about it, just put it in the middle or bottom of the bowl.

then you need

some sliced strawberries{these came from the frozen section by the cool whip at kroger}, i don't know the amount of how much but i think this might be 2 cups. you want at-least 2 cups total of strawberries and syrup 1 to 1.

then drain the syrup into a bowl

i just used a spoon to move the strawberries around a little bit to get more syrup then just waited a little bit for them to drain.
then you need

cool whip 2 tubs and i mixed 1/2 a teaspoon if vanilla extract then folded it in to the cool whip to make it billowy like a soft cloud.

and you will also need white chocolate {i forgot to take a picture of it}{oops}

so now it's time to assemble the 1st layer you take one of the angel food cake layers and lay it in the bowl.
i also forgot to take a pic of the assembly of the 1st layer but it's the same thing for all 3 layers.
so like i said you but this down then you take the syrup and put it on the cake.

i poured it on the cake then used the back of the spoon to spread it so it was saturated.

then spread the strawberries on top

don't worry i filled in that gap towards the corner.

then you want to spread the cool whip on top and shave some white chocolate on top of the cool whip.

then do another layer then another.
i made this a day ahead and it came out really well so i would suggest doing that but you can still eat it on the same day just put it in the fridge for a couple to get it chilled.
so that's it i hope somebody will make this because it's so good.
i think it's also a good one for spring and summer.
well write to you later
